Call forwarding (or diverts) is one of the most important phone features if you 1) keep separate phones for work and for personal use; 2) you never like missing a call and would like someone to take the call on your behalf; 3) your area almost always has bad signal so you direct the call to someone else with a better one; 4) you are overseas and would like someone back in the Philippines to take the call instead.
Unfortunately in the Philippines, networks have blocked the call forwarding and voice mailbox features on iPhones unless you are on a business account. We can get angry all we want but at least we get a hand on how to hack it 😛 Please know that I will only be discussing here the call forwarding hack. As for now, a voice mailbox hack is still not possible.
Activating Call Forwarding
A. To set up “Call Forward if Busy”:
Dial *67*(Number you want to forward to)*11# and press “Call”
B. To set up “Call Forward if Not Answered”:
Dial *61*(Number you want to forward to)*11*15# and press “Call”
C. To set up “Call Forward if Unreachable”:
Dial *62*(Number you want to forward to)*11# and press “Call”
Deactivating Call Forwarding
A. To deactivate “Call Forward if Busy”:
Dial #67# and press “Call”
B. To deactivate “Call Forward if Not Answered”:
Dial #61# and press “Call”
C. To deactivate “Call Forward if Unreachable”:
Dial #62# and press “Call”
- You can activate all features with no problems. I’ve activated them all so all my calls are properly covered, and it’s been way more convenient for me ever since.
- You can only forward to numbers with the same country code.
My special thanks to Dheeraj Verma of Ideas4IOS for letting me share this hack. This is his original idea being frustrated himself with this lack of feature in networks in his home country.
